He was clutching a water bottle, squeezing the plastic in his fist. Who was my brother? Trask is your brother? I watched the doorman grow uncomfortable at my honesty. Lately, I tended to have that effect on people.

People took one look at my face and assumed that a pretty girl like myself should smile and be complacent, like somehow bright green eyes and blonde hair suddenly made me incapable of rage. Karma, though? She and I were best friends. The inside of the building was beautiful. In one of our brief phone calls, Lance explained that he was an architect and designed the place.

I wondered what about this place made him decide to set up roots here. The traditional arches were broad and gave unobstructed views of the hallway leading to the apartments. It felt open but mysterious as well. It seemed like there were secrets hidden around every corner. The warm tones of the design looked welcoming and masculine. It had a contemporary edge but a timeless quality about it that I could appreciate. I took the stairs instead of the elevator to prolong the inevitable. With my backpack weighing me down, I trudged the three flights with unease.

I could do this, right? I could face him. Introduce myself. I guess I just wanted to know him. I wanted to figure out who the fuck he was and maybe even find pieces of the person my mama pretended to be in him. Something she told me stuck like a pin needle in my chest. Not big enough of a cut to do any lasting damage, but small enough to feel annoying, something that pricked at me every damn time I took a breath. So why the fuck did she keep me? This was all so ridiculous.

One death. One phone call. One offer to move here and start over. He made grand gestures, offered to let me live with him until I got on my feet. Even helped pay for the funeral bills when I realized how fucking expensive caskets were. I spent many nights staring at that photo of him. I guess I was trying to find hints that we were cut from the same cloth.

He had blond hair and bright blue eyes. Oh, but Lance knew all about me. He spoke with my social worker, called my school, and paid for repairs on my car so I could drive out to Memphis. Lance did his homework the moment he found out he had a sister and decided right then and there he wanted to save me. Is it getting serious?

Lance always had a stream of partners. Lance just loved. Plain and simple. Most of the time, it got him in trouble. I often wondered if his need to connect and burn bright was because his flesh and blood gave him up as a baby, but I never asked.

Do you think Blakely will like him? I let out a slow, steady breath. Having my dirty little secret living down the hall had me obsessing over alternate endings and happily ever afters.

In the classroom, he practically ignored me. But here? Everything started with a choice, and somewhere between grief and redemption, I chose to make him mine. The death of her mother comes as a relief; a burden she w Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives. There is nothing dark, forbidden or taboo here.

The so called Teacher is 24 and This author is going to be the one to watch now! Sexy, forbidden, heartbreaking, emotional raw romance that delivered!! A decade. I traveled the world, settled halfway around the world, made myself a name and enough money that I didn't have to look back. But I never got over her. And when my memories got the best of me, I went looking. By: Laurelin Paige.

A beautiful, innocent orphan falls for a mysterious Bratva hitman in this full-length, standalone, bad boy mafia romance from author Nicole Fox. Roman offers Lucy the chance to avenge her parents' murders at the hands of a vicious mobster.

The only question is By: Nicole Fox. Maybe, if I were older. Having my dirty little secret living down the hall had me obsessing over alternate endings and happily ever afters. In the classroom, he practically ignored me. But here? Everything started with a choice, and somewhere between grief and redemption, I chose to make him mine. This is such a fantastic book!

I loved every part of it. The narration is amazing! CoraLee June has done it again! This book makes you fall, along with the characters and just when you think your heart is about to be ripped out. This is not that. This is an incredible love story. The narration was perfect. Definitely a must have companion to the book. It is to my complete and utter shame that I have to admit that, although I bought this book on release day, it has been sitting on my TBR-list for a long long while.

From the moment I knew the audiobook was coming, I kept postponing it well, I was waiting for the audio really. Long story short, I have been a complete twatwaffle because this audio book was pure perfection. I was wholly consumed by these characters and swept away by their story and emotions. It was so pure, so raw at times and the atmosphere that is created in this book, allowed me to be there, with the characters, accompanying them on their journey.

The narrators of the audiobook only strengthen this feeling, giving life to the different characters and really capturing their personalities and quirks with their voices.

This is a must read! Beyond a shadow of a doubt Narration: 2. The southern accent was Over the top and at times made me cringe. The male narrator was fantastic though!

Story: 3. Forbidden love slow burn? I still enjoyed this story mainly because of how both main characters were so reluctant to engage in a relationship. They resisted each other as long as possible before caving and that added tension was my jam. I just wish the forbidden aspect had been fleshed out more. It was actually kind of random. Hmmm oh! I loved Decker and Lance. I liked how protective Decker was of his best friend, Lance.

Their friendship was sweet. This is absolutely one of my favorite books ever by CoraLee June!!! Decker is one of my fave book boyfriends and I absolutely loved this entire book! Highly recommend this! The writing style is expository. Plot twists intertwined with a subplot creating more suspense. Characters are well fleshed out with their own voice. A opulence of romance and angst swirling through the narrative.

With a hea in this dual pov given with a epilogue. Narators Amber Bray, Tyler Darby in my opinion didn't fit the characters. I felt their inflection sounded older than young adults. I got older vibe more mc or mafia type listen.

Other than that the naration was fine and easy listen. Overall, a entertaining listen. Blakely and Decker are great characters. Blakely is wonderful, strong and independent. Decker is handsome, and protective. He is Blakely Brother's best friend, and her teacher.

The supporting characters are great. Lance, Blakely's brother is a great character. Blakely's father is intriguing. The storyline has twists and turns, and a little suspense.
